A quick update….

An image I did for the Womanthology Valentine’s PDF giveaway. I’m not used to watercolors, nor bright/saturated colors. Looking forward to learning more about it!!!

A gift for the amazing and talented writer Karen Mahoney; her teen vampire Moth from her upcoming novel Falling to Ash (which I CANNOT. WAIT. TO. READ. OMG!!). If you’ve got time, please buy/read her other books, The Iron Witch, and its sequel, The Wood Queen. I’m going to tuck into the second book as soon as I can, since I loved the first. :)

Leave it to me to bleed all over my lineart. It happens more often than you might think. :P

This year, as with most, my Valentine was my cats. <3 Kumo was very clingy today and didn’t want me to work at all.

2012 Hourlies….

It’s February 1, and that means Hourly Comic Day, in which you document each hour of your day in comic form for a day. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m extremely slow, but doing this on top of the normal day’s work is rather difficult. ^^ But it’s fun!! So here’s another look into piggy’s oh so uneventful work day….. It’s funny how things change so much in one year’s time, and how much they also don’t.

The house is quiet for once (not sure how long that’s going to last); everyone else is gone, the birds are noshing on some boiled egg (which means quiet!), and the kitties are mostly sleeping in the sunlight (or on my lap)…..time for an impromptu blog post, I’d say. :)

I’m still having a lot of trouble with my health, still pretty weak, and losing weight for no reason, and having a hard time staying on a level and sleeping properly. But I’m also mostly off nearly all my medicine, which is good, I think (?), but that’s more because I’m nearly out, and can’t afford more (because I don’t have insurance, they’re REALLY expensive even for generics). We’ll see how it goes from here. I’ve been slowly trying to build back strength in terms of out right exercise (I’m usually a very active sort), and in terms of sitting at my desk and working. Again, having trouble with both, but it’s getting there. And that’s about all I can ask for at the moment.

So I’ve been drawing stuff~!!! :D Stuff I can’t show, and stuff I can. Here’s some stuff I’ve doodled as warm up or gift or whatever.

The early workings of an illustration based of the blooming way too early camellias that my current town is famous for.

Those Mono erasers are the only ones I use and I recently found out because of its PVC content, they’re no longer able to be imported into the USA. I almost cried. So I sent my Big Brother to Maido (a stationary store) and Kinokuniya to try to buy them all before they were taken off the shelves but to no avail. There’s a non-PVC version available, which he sent me, but I’m skeptical, though unless I beg upon friends in Japan to send some to me, it’s my most convenient option. We shall see~!! :P

I don’t know anything about Homestuck save that it’s wildly popular, but I drew this for my very dear PlayerProphet because she’s awesome and has always been a good person. :)

And this was for NekoEwen because he’s equally as awesome and dear to me. :)

Wow, we’re already a week into the New Year. Crazy. Truthfully, I don’t have much to show. My life is still really sideways and I can’t describe it properly….I’m still very sick, also, and trying to get a grip on that. But I think that 2012 will be an amazing year for a great many people; including YOU. There’s so many people, and a few special ones, whom I want to cheer my hardest for and work hard for. And for myself, too. :) I’m not too sure what’s up with this California heat, though. We really need some rain and snow in the mountains or else we’ll be a’sufferin’ in the summer. D: It’s a little scary when the camellias are blooming so early~! We should have another month and a half at the earliest.

I update my Tumblr a lot more than this blog (well, not a LOT more), so please check there if you’re looking for more frequent updates. :P Otherwise here’s some snippets of things I’ve been a’doodling. :)

Wha…..Why hello there. ^__^;;;;;

This blog has gone a long time without updates. From artblocks, to being slammed with work, and working on other things……to recently my website going down (and thus taking out my mysql databases with it, which is why I had to re-install wordpress AGAIN, ack), a stay in the hospital……sheesh. It’s been a really busy time since I last updated.

I really wish I could say that things are going smoothly, but, y’know, that’s life. :P I DO have some good news, though.

Firstly, Womanthology: Heroic is available for preorder on Amazon.com if you missed out on the Kickstarter a few months back. It’s a great chance to pick it up as the preorder price is SUPER cheap. :) It was so much fun working with Irene Ayukawa on a story for it.

Secondly, an little artbook I participated in over the summer is FINALLY for sale up in my new shop. Quantities are VERY limited, so please grab it while you can. Una Colleccion De Mundos Pocos: Fantasy Vignette Artbook.

Thirdly, Sugar Ninjas, a group of talented comicker ladies led by Ana May over there at SCAD invited me to join in their volume 3 shenanigans. GOOD TIMES~!!! :D I had a lot of trouble, but I was able to get a piece of my Yellow Ribbon story in. I am SO VERY THANKFUL for all of Ana’s and Gally’s and EVERYONES’ time and patience with me. ^__^;; I was in the SPICY version, but you can by both SPICY and SWEET (as well as past volumes) here at their LULU.com shop.
